Siva Theja Maguluri received his B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Madras, and an MS in ECE, MS in Applied Math, and Ph.D. in ECE from University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. He was a Research Staff Member in the Mathematical Sciences Department at IBM T. J. Watson Research Center before moving to Georgia Tech. His research is centered around the theme of `Optimization of Stochastic Systems,’ and includes theoretical developments in Applied Probability, Queueing Theory, Stochastic Optimization, Distributed Optimization, and Reinforcement Learning, and applications in Scheduling, Resource Allocation and Revenue Optimization in a variety of systems including Data Centers, Cloud Computing, Wireless Networks, Block Chains, and Ride hailing systems. Reflecting the impact of his research, he is a co-recipient of the prestigious “Best Publication in Applied Probability” award, presented by INFORMS Applied Probability Society every two years.
